Foxconn applies for license, aiming to get into wireless service

Apple's parts manufacturer of choice, Foxconn, doesn't seem very happy with its current industry. The company recently made its own iPhone-compatible smartwatch (in order to show off that it could design its own devices), and now the Wall Street Journal reports that Foxconn's parent company, Hon Hai, has applied for a high-speed wireless broadband license in Taiwan. An auction for the frequency will happen in September of this year, with bidders having been announced in August. This move certainly makes it seem that the company is aiming to provide wireless service, which is a nice industry jump
