Smile has launched TextExpander 4, a new version of its typing shortcut utility. The update features a new option for "fill-in-the-blank" snippets, which make it possible to create a form letter template that can be personalized with names, dates, and other information when the snippet is expanded. In addition, the new release introduces a Snippet Creation Assistant. The assistant will launch the first time the software is opened, and provides step-by-step instructions for creating a set of snippets.
