Huawei hurls Gigabit broadband across 100 meters of old copper

There's little point in having a super-speedy optic backbone if broadband gets yellow-flagged on the final straight between junction box and home. But Huawei claims it's developed prototype DSL technology that can deliver 1Gb/s downstream and upstream over common twisted pair copper telephone cable for distances of up to 100 meters.
