Apple patents improved oleophobic coating process

Apple has been awarded a patent for a manufacturing process that seeks to apply an oil-resistant (oleophobic) coating to the surface of a component (for example, a screen) in a way that reduces the chance of any impurities diluting the coating. The patent was originally applied for in February of this year, meaning the improved process may already be in use for the company's iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch products, or will appear in future versions.
