Users have discovered a method which allows non-developers to run the iOS 5 beta. Although it first involves downloading the iOS 5 IPSW from a website such as a torrent tracker, the technique is then dependent only on iTunes and exploiting a security vulnerability in the firmware. With an iPhone connected to iTunes, users must hit Option or Shift while clicking on the software's Check for Update button to select the iOS 5 firmware they've downloaded.
