Reported industry estimates on Friday hinted at significantly lowered expectations for notebooks owing to the iPad and other tablets. PC builders were expecting about 12 percent to 15 percent worldwide growth in notebooks during 2011 but now trimmed their predictions to less than 10 percent. The impact of tablets was "more substantive" than what they had already planned for, Digitimes said.
