Dell has announced that it will open a new research and development center in Silicon Valley, near both the Apple and Intel headquarters. As Forbes reports, although Dellís HQ will remain in Texas, the new space will help it keep intellectual talent from its acquisitions of Zing, Ocarina, Scalent and Everdream under the same roof. It also aims to expand its workforce at the new R&D facility to over 1500 in the next five years.
