The second-generation iPad may indeed use a carbon fiber body, according to Daring Fireball's John Gruber. The information is considered "half-sure," as it was obtained from "second-hand" sources who are themselves said to be uncertain. Gruber is generally believed to have a good track record however, and was one of the first to insist that the second-gen iPad would not get an ultra-sharp display. That view is now broadly accepted.
