The launch of the iPad will spark a surge in tablet sales over the next few years, IDC estimated today. Analysts expect Apple's hardware to lead tablets to 7.6 million units in total this year and as many as 46 million by 2014. The rate would see the tablet market growing an average of over 57 percent each year.
