An LCD television that encroaches the ground of OLED screens

Over the years we have heard about the OLED screens. They are much used for mobile phones, however no manufacturer has yet succeeded in producing a big screen (beyond 15") using this very promising technology since it frees them from using any retro-lighting and thus to cut power consumption, and also allows the screen to be very thin. During this time, the LCD technology has continued to evolve. LG has just shown that one can make large television sets (42") practically as thin as OLED screens.  They will present at the time of CES at Las Vegas a prototype of television set that will have a thickness of only 2,6 mm and a weight of 4 kg.
