Sony Launched its TransferJet Chips

Last year, main companies in component manufacturing (among them Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Toshiba, Olympus, Pioneer) announced the development of a new wireless format named TransferJet. Working with a frequency of 4.48 GHz, this technology aims to transfer data at 375 Mbits/s (real) over few centimeters and up to 560 Mbits/s.It is not designed to install or create computer network, but rather to empty the storage unit of a camera or a music player without requiring to plug it physically to a computer. One will only need to place it nearby the computer in order to get the integrated connector into the connection range. Sony announced the availability of 2 chips compatible with this format.
