The public prosecutor of New York set in motion the procedure claiming that Intel blocked its main competitor, AMD.  The procedure will take a long time but it is possible that there will be a new judgment against Intel, and this could cost them more since the American antitrust laws are without pity. Note, if Intel opened a little more with competition, one could see AMD leaving its hole, NVidia to propose new chipsets and for USB 3.0 to be in public use much earlier.
