Hybrid SLI: Look Back to the Future

Couple of months ago, NVIDIA released an innovative technology, known as Hybrid SLI, letting users to use simultaneously a dedicated GPU and an integrated chipset. Depending on tasks and 3D rendering, the system would then use only the graphical chipset, or both graphical processing unit. It would be possible to use such system in the current MacBook Pro, however, Apple never implemented it to be able to offer such management "on the fly".NVIDIA might be on track to release a new version of the Hybrid SLI, offering a better implementation and support for future Intel Arrendale CPU. As a reminder, the Core i5 and i7 available in the new iMac models feature 2 cores and an integrated graphical chipset. So while Intel refused to license its future CPU Nehalem architecture to NVIDIA, the GPU company might try to be present on the market with its new Hybrid SLI.If such a solution offers the expected performance levels, Apple might certainly use it for its future Nehalem-based MacBook Pro. Indeed, it
