Public Interest Registry: .ORG, The Public Interest Registry Releases Bi-Annual Domain Name Report, "The Dashboard"

RESTON, VA (MARKET WIRE) .ORG, The Public Interest Registry today released the results of its second bi-annual domain name report, "The Dashboard," illustrating the continued growth of the world's third largest generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) since the first half of 2009. Overall, the number of new .ORG domain registrations rose by a healthy 14 percent, while its number of domains under registration grew by 3.5 percent from July to December 2009. By the close of the year, the total number of domains under management was almost 8 million -- an increase of 8.4 percent since 2008.
