iOS 7 Beta 3: Enter PIN-Bug umgehen (PIN Eingabe funktioniert nicht)
Apple hat gerade die dritte Beta-Version von iOS 7 auf Entwickler los gelassen.
Mit jeder neuen Beta kommen auch neue Bugs, deshalb sollten diese Versionen auch nur auf Entwickler-Geräten installiert werden, die nicht für den täglichen Gebrauch bestimmt sind.
Ein Bug ist jedoch eklatant: Nach der Installation bleibt das iPhone gesperrt bzw. es wird kein Netzwerk gefunden da die SIM Karte gesperrt bleibt.

T-Mobile's iPhone launch affects Android
According to a new report by Kantar Worldpanel analyzing the three month period ending in May,2013 Apple's iOS sales are up 3.5 percent from the same period last year, holding at 41.9 percent of sales. Google's Android system is still selling strongly with a smartphone share of 52 percent, however that number is only up 0.1 percent. Microsoft's Windows Phone sales were up a bit as well, increasing 0.9 percent over the last year to 4.6 percent of market share.

Twitter for Mac, iOS update offers DM read status sync
Twitter has updated its iOS app and its Mac app, adding DM status sync and a new Connect timeline, respectively.
On the iOS side of things, the new DM status sync will mark a direct message that you've read as such on all of your devices. Nice! As for the Mac, the new Connect timeline will let you browse your own tweets that have been re-tweeted or favorited. It also keeps track of new followers and plays well with DM sync.

iOS 7 Beta 3 Tidbits: New App Download Animation, Thicker Fonts, Safari Improvements
Apple today released the third beta of iOS 7, which brings a number of improvements and bug fixes to the operating system. According to the release notes, double notifications have been resolved and AirPlay issues have also been fixed. Several other minor enhancements have been bundled into the release, as noted by our forum members: Redesigned Fonts - Fonts across a number of apps appear to have been tweaked to be thicker, using Helvetica Neue Regular instead of Ultra Light. Einige Neuerungen aus der dritten Beta von iOS 7
In der dritten Betaversion von iOS 7 befinden sich wieder jede Menge kleinerer Neuerungen, auch am Design nahm Apple noch einige Änderungen vor. An der grundsätzlichen Ausrichtung gab es natürlich keine wesentlichen Modifikationen, dennoch sieht man an der dritten Betaversion, dass Apple noch einiges an Detailarbeit in die Optik von iOS 7 steckt. On Apple's 'inability to innovate'
During WWDC 2013, Apple's Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller presided over a sneak peek of Apple's upcoming Mac Pro and boldly exclaimed, "Can't innovate anymore, my ass!"
Schiller's off-the-cuff remark was in response to the increasing number of tech pundits who seem to think that Apple has lost its inability to innovate, now that Steve Jobs is no longer running the show.
Of course, anyone who has followed Apple over the years knows that the "Apple can't innovate anymore!" refrain is nothing new. Indeed, every time Apple releases a new product, critics are quick to proclaim that Apple has peaked.

T-Mobile boosts US iPhone sales, Android retains leadership
The iPhone's share of the US smartphone market rose 3.5 percent year-over-year during a three-month period ending in May 2013, according to new Kantar Worldpanel data. iOS 7 Beta 3 für Entwickler veröffentlicht
Apple hat die dritte Beta-Version von iOS 7 veröffentlicht. Der Download erfolgt entweder über die Softwareaktualisierung auf dem iPhone oder iPad selbst oder über den Entwickler-Bereich auf der Homepage Apples. Zwei Wochen nach dem Release von Beta 2, hat Apple iOS 7 Beta 3 veröffentlicht. Angekommen: Android 4.2.2 auf dem HTC One

Apple to offer $50 off HP printers at retail stores
Starting on Tuesday, US Apple Stores will see an updated summer assortment of layouts, posters, and accessories, according to leaked information. One of the layout changes is expected to be a focus on third-party printers, particularly ones by HP and Epson. Some HP printers will get a $50 discount valid through September 6th. A leaked promotional "magnet" states that the HP discount actually started July 2nd, but the item was allegedly delivered to stores prematurely.

A new hack should allow T-Mobile subscribers to use iOS' personal hotspot feature for free without jailbreaking, says the workaround's creator, iTweakiOS. Entwickler Hamza Sood hat im Quellcode der iOS-7-Vorabversion Hinweise gefunden, nach welchen die Diktierfunktion in iOS 7 künftig ohne eine aktive Internetverbindung genutzt werden könnte. Momentan werden die vom Mikrofon aufgenommenen Daten an einen Apple-Server gesendet, welcher dann die Auswertung der Aufnahme vornimmt. Nach der Auswertung werden die Daten an das iOS-Gerät zurück gesendet. Diese Funktionsweise sorgt zwar für gute Ergebnisse. Andererseits steigt das verbrauchte Datenvolumen und bei schlechter Verbindung können Fehlermeldungen auftauchen. Die Offline-Diktierfunktion würde diese Probleme beheben und wohlmöglich für eine deutlich schnellere Spracheingabe sorgen. Weiterhin nicht offline nutzbar sein soll Siri. Siri erfordert grosse Rechenleistungen, welche kaum lokal ausgeführt werden können.

Rumor has fifth-gen iPad on track for Sept., iPad mini still nebulous
The fifth-generation 9.7-inch iPad is due to launch in September, but the details surrounding a second-gen iPad mini are still in the air, supply chain sources tell DigiTimes. The new 9.7-inch iPad is expected to adopt a slimmer bezel, and get other subtler improvements such as increased battery life, which may be due in part to switching from two LED backlighting tubes to one. Separate reports have also usually suggested that the tablet will switch to a faster processor.

Rollout hat begonnen: HTC One erhält Android 4.2.2-Update

HTC rollt offiziell das Update für Android 4.2.2 für das HTC One aus. Eine gute Nachricht für alle One-Besitzer. Bislang ist es in Skandinavien erhältlich und man geht davon aus, dass andere europäische Länder demnächst folgen werden. Neben dem OS sollen auch andere Anpassungen und Verbesserungen passiert sein. Ein neuer Lockscreen ist genauso im Paket wie Verbesserungen in der Launcher Bar und optimierte Homebutton-Funktionen. Bis alle Geräte mit dem Update versorgt werden, können aber einige Wochen verstreichen. Heißt ggf. eben auch, ein bisschen Geduld mitzubringen.

Instagram adds landscape support, Cinema stabilization for front camera
Uber-popular social photo sharing app Instagram has released a small update over the July 4 holiday that adds a few major features. The most noticeable new feature in the update allows users to take photos or record videos in landscape orientation.
Another nice feature is support for Cinema stabilization with the iPhone's front-facing camera. "Cinema" is Instagram's version of image stabilization. Previously, Cinema was only available for the iPhone's rear camera. Here's the full release notes from the latest Instagram update:

Der Umstand, dass mehrere Apps gleichzeitig kostenlos angeboten werden, welche zuvor immer kostenpflichtig waren, deutet auf eine Aktion im Zusammenhang mit dem Jubiläum hin. Olloclip adds a telephoto lens to the family
Olloclip has been a favorite solution for many iPhone owners when it comes to enhancing digital photography with the Apple device. The company's clip-on lens solution features a macro lens, a fisheye lens, and a wide-angle lens. Onswipe: Developer, tester interest in iOS 7 beta very high
Mobile web advertising and optimizing company Onswipe is reporting that interest in the iOS 7 beta is growing at a furious pace, with three quarters of a percent of the iPhone user base already running the software in beta. The figures represents at a minimum more than two million iPhones, far higher than those running the iOS 6 beta at the same point in its development cycle. While some of that figure may be users who have pirated the (notoriously unstable and buggy) beta, most is believed to be developers who need to match their apps to iOS 7's new look.

Hulu sale bidding period ends, no clear front runner
Bids for the latest attempt to sell Hulu closed on Friday at 2PM PT, with no clear leader. Reportedly at the top of the bidding with very similar offers are DirecTV, The Chernin Group, and Guggenheim Digital Media. Two other bidders allegedly behind the top three are Time Warner Cable, and equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. Beyond just undisclosed cash considerations, the conglomerate that currently own the digital video streaming service are evaluating content licensing provisions, which vary suitor to suitor.

Itís hard to believe that Appleís venerable iPod classic was first introduced in 2007. Itís almost unheard of in the tech world for a product to stay on the market for six years remaining virtually unchanged in that time. Yet here it is, still kicking on despite predictions that it would be axed over the past couple of years. App Store setting some top apps free ahead of fifth anniversary
The fifth anniversary of the iOS App Store is just days away, but Apple is apparently preparing a gift for its users: a number of top apps that normally sell for $1 up to $20 have been reduced to free, including the $20 Traktor DJ for iPad, the $6 Infinity Blade and $7 Infinity Blade II, the $5 Barefoot World Atlas, the $4 multiplayer Badland (which just won an Apple Design Award last month) and the $5 Day One journal/diary app, along with a few others. There is no indication how long the sale will last, and no unified listing for the sale apps as of yet.

UK study: iPhone 5 launch took heavy flak on social networks
A new study out of the UK that monitored consumer sentiment on social networks when the iPhone 5 launched has found that 20 percent of posts were critical of the device. By comparison, the launch of the Galaxy S4 attracted around half as much criticism at 11 percent, reports the Daily Mail. Criticisms leveled at the iPhone 5 was targeted at the new Lightning connector, the problems with the Maps app and that the design was not different enough to the iPhone 4S that preceded it.

Zeigen Bilder neues Budget-iPhone?
Der Zubehör-Hersteller «Techdy» will in den Besitz eines Gehäuses und Bildschirms des erwarteten Budget-iPhone gekommen sein und zeigt auf der Webseite Bilder dieses angeblichen iPhone-Gehäuses. Seit Anfang Juli werden in der Schweiz auf Tablet-Computer SUISA-Gebühren erhoben (macprime.ch berichtete). Nun haben auch die iPad-Preise aufgeschlagen.
Erhoben werden Gebühren von 3, 5, 8 respektive 16 Schweizer Franken (für 16, 32, 64 bzw. 128 GB Speicherplatz) auf alle sich im Verkauf befindlichen iPads — dies umfasst alle Modelle des iPad mini und des iPad 4 sowie dem günstigen iPad 2. Die Tarife belaufen sich demnach auf 12.5 bis 18.75 Rappen pro Gigabyte. Bei digitalen Musik-Playern sind die Abgaben mit 21.9 Rappen pro Gigabyte höher.
Weder die «Stiftung für Konsumentenschutz» noch der «Dachverband der Urheberrechts-Nutzer» hatten gegen den neuen Tarif «GT 4f» geklagt.
