Apple is escalating its search for people to work at its under-construction Prineville, Oregon datacenter, notes AppleInsider. The company recently posted a job listing for an operations planner, as well as a site services technician. In late March, the company started looking for a chief engineer.

EU reportedly accepts Google's antitrust concessions for online search

Google has no doubt been on pins and needles wondering whether or not the European Commission will accept the search engine changes it's proposing to avoid an antitrust showdown. Research shows AirPlay is top screen mirroring service, but tech barriers still limit use

A recent study by NPD shows that 40 percent of smartphone and tablet owners are aware their devices have screen mirroring capabilities. Men and 18 to 34 year-olds have the highest awareness of the option of any groups in the study. MetroPCS board approves Deustche Telekom's merger offer, urges shareholders to do the same

After delaying a vote on T-Mobile's final merger bid a few days ago, MetroPCS' board of directors has voiced unanimous approval and is encouraging shareholders to vote yes as well. Deutsche Telekom's offer would reduce MetroPCS' debt by $3.8 billion as well as slash the interest rate on that debt by half a point. The YouTube iOS app was updated today to version 1.3, adding a variety of new and improved features. Amazon adds Apple to list of companies used to judge executive pay

Amazon has added Apple to a list of companies it measures against when deciding executive pay, according to a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing found by India's Economic Times. AppGratis petition gathers hundreds of thousands of supporters

Last week, TUAW ran several stories about app-discovery and deals app AppGratis being pulled from the iOS App Store for alleged violations of Apple's developer guidelines. More often than not, a first glance at an app turns into a buying opportunity, and the next thing you know you've spent anywhere from $0.99 to "a big amount" on the latest and greatest. An independent Apple shop in Wenzhou reportedly turned in 121 iPhone 4S parts, claiming they were broken. These parts comprise the core of the phone's internals and are worth just under US$500 each. Kevin Lynch soll Team von iPod-Veteranen führen

Der französische Blog «macg» berichtet unter Berufung auf vertrauenswürdige Quellen bei Apple, dass der vormalige Adobe CTO und aktuelle «VP of Technology» bei Apple, Kevin Lynch, ein neues Team bei Apple zusammengestellt haben soll.
